Welcome to La Posa Estate — A Historic Lakeside Retreat
Tucked away on five serene acres of wooded groves and sun-drenched lawns, La Posa Estate invites you to experience the magic of summer on Long Pond.
Originally known as Maine Chance Farm and once the site of Elizabeth Arden’s legendary beauty spa in the 1930s and 1940s, La Posa carries a rich history of rest, renewal, and timeless charm. Today, that legacy lives on in every detail — from the stillness of the lake at dawn to the warmth of the fire pit under a canopy of stars.
Located in the heart of Central Maine, just minutes from the charming villages of Belgrade Lakes and Mount Vernon — and about an hour from the coast — La Posa is a perfect home base for your Maine getaway.
Our estate features three cozy, private one-bedroom cottages, each thoughtfully designed with its own kitchen, bathroom, and quiet corner of the home. Whether you’re here for a romantic escape, a peaceful solo retreat, or a restful reset surrounded by nature, we welcome you with open arms.
Take a look around our site to explore the cottages, local adventures, and a bit of La Posa’s story. We’re so glad you’re here — and we look forward to welcoming you to our home.
“For Maine Chance Farm is a gold-plated rest cure and reducing ranch for the pampered daughters of the idle rich, conducted with all the discipline and smooth efficiency of the ordinary army post.” – Boston Globe, July 31, 1938
